Bi Wei Liang
Bi Wei Liang was born in Canton, China. Her Impressionist landscape and garden paintings create a beautiful and lush vision. Her formal art education began at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, one of six art colleges in China, where she studied under a number of Chinese masters and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art. In 1982, Bi Wei came to the United States. She continued her studies at Massachusetts College of Art and in 1985 graduated with the Alumni Award for leadership in the field of visual arts. Fascinated by the French Impressionists, Bi Wei concentrates on developing her own methods of using rich color to capture light in her work. The spontaneous blend of color combined with a romantic setting presents the viewer with paintings that are truly alive. Her extensive travels through Europe, Tibet and America influence her painting a great deal, and she expresses her passion for different cultures, history and nature through her work. In addition to her many exhibitions, Bi Wei's work is collected throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. Her originals now hang in numerous major hotels in New York, Chicago, Boston, Brussels, Thailand and Malaysia. She currently resides in Southern California.
