Tracy Wright Avant, b. 1960, Ft. Dix, NJ, (United States)
Coming from generations of a family that appreciated the arts, Avant began her journey as a toddler and won her first, First Place Art Award from the San Antonio Express-News while only 7 years old. While Avant’s first career path was in modelling and dance she made a decision early in life to pursue her love of the arts and paint full-time.
Avant travels throughout the year in the USA, Canada and Europe where she paints plein-air. She is always searching for new information. She can be found on the beaches of California, the Sierras, the Rockies, the Olympic Peninsula, the Grand Canyon, The Navajo Nation, Big Bend, New York City, the White Mountains, Acadia National Park and all parks and states in between. She returns to her studio to paint still-lifes, wildlife and figures. She has been a full time artist for 29 years consistently investigating and exploring new art from around the world. Avant is an avid art bibliophile and loves reading about all artists and art related subjects.
Avant is inspired by the work of Nicolai Fechin, Richard Schmid, John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida, Anders Zorn, Winslow Homer, Jules Bastien Le Page and John White Alexander. Avant has studied over the last 29 years under the guidance of many distinguished nationally and internationally known artists.
