EQUINE ELEGANCE: BRUCE LAWES
February 12 - 22, 2015
Scottsdale, Arizona

Scottsdale, AZ…. Trailside Galleries is pleased to present Equine Elegance a special showcase of equine paintings by Canadian artist Bruce Lawes.  The show will be on exhibit at the gallery from February 12 through February 22 coinciding with the Arabian Horse show here in Scottsdale, AZ.

Lawes is an internationally collected painter born in Toronto, Canada. He has remained a resident in the area all his life, however, as the broad range of subject matter in his paintings may suggest, he has a keen interest in travel.  The artist’s versatility is clearly visible, whether he is working on a figurative piece, a landscape or an equine painting and each and every work always upholds a strong level of quality, craftsmanship and technical skill.

For this particular event, Lawes has created a series of masterful equine paintings.  He notes, “I’ve found the horse to be my favorite subject as an artist; the challenges they present and the power and beauty they convey is undeniable.”  The range of his equine interpretations reached far and wide, from depicting the plight of America’s wild mustangs to portraying the power and speed of racehorses and hunter/jumpers to the grace and elegance of dressage horses.

Lawes has done many personal and corporate works over the years, yet in order to give meaning to his work, he often paints with a significant theme. He continues to refine his natural talents while directing his paintings towards a greater purpose, when possible. He seeks out worthy programs that will generate public awareness and solid corporate participation.
