Trailside Galleries is pleased to present Robert Moore: Stroke Of Nature- a show of all new works by the Idaho based landscape and still life painter.  This latest body of work by Moore can be viewed in the gallery December 4 - 16.  The gallery will host an Open House on Saturday, December 9 from 1:00 -4:00 pm.   During the reception, Robert Moore will be in attendance to meet collectors and will also be doing a painting demonstration.

Moore is a multi-award winning artist whose paintings reflect his deep love and appreciation for nature's endless beauty.  Born in Burley, Idaho in 1957, he was raised near the Snake River where his appreciation for nature was sparked.  Robert attended The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California for four years and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration in 1987.  He also attended Eastern Oregon State College in LaGrande, Oregon and earned a B.S. Degree in Art and Teacher Certificate.

Moore is known for his masterful use of light to show strong contrasts, such as the graceful forms of a forest interior backlit with brilliant sunlight.  Whether painting a pure landscape, still-life, seascape or occasional figurative, his distinctive combination of brush and palette knife, coupled with his use of heavy surface texture and high key color brings forth a passion and energy to every canvas.  A plein air purist, he works on location to best capture the immediate impression of each subject.

He observes, “Paintings are the byproduct of my search for color and design.  It’s a recording of my attempts to replicate the beauty that is out there.”  He adds, “The work is exciting because of the physicality of the paint, the thickness and marks on the canvas, and variety within the masses of the composition.”

While primarily inspired by landscapes and subjects close to home, Robert has traveled extensively to other countries, including Europe and China, to pursue interesting subject matter. Robert is a highly sought-after instructor and he teaches several workshops each year.
